Ways To Protect Your Data

We ask our customers to do their part in protecting their online data by monitoring their accounts regularly and alerting us immediately if they suspect they are a victim of fraud.  Learn what to do if you suspect identity theft on our Security and Identity Theft website page.

Protect Your Online Banking Passwords

  • Regularly change your password every few months.
  • Choose a unique password that you use exclusively for online banking. Avoid using the same password for different online services. It should include a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Don’t use passwords based on personal information that can be easily guessed, such as children’s or pets’ names, addresses, or birthdays.
  • Don’t use words that can be found in any dictionary of any language.
  • Use both lowercase and capital letters.
  • Use a combination of letters, numbers, and special characters.
  • Consider using a passphrase, a series of random words that are easy to remember but hard to crack to enhance password strength.
  • Don’t write your password down and leave it where someone can find it.
  • Never share your password with anyone. Be suspicious of any phone calls or email messages requesting that you reveal your password.
